WE ARE AN ONLINE RESOURCE HUB FOR EDUCATORS IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

Welcome to GPBS

A multimedia website connecting faith, liturgy and life

GPBS (Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send) is a multimedia online website connecting faith, liturgy and life. It’s for School and Parish communities searching for contemporary resources that speak to the hearts, minds and stories of people, especially the young.

Why GPBS?

GPBS is based on four key components: Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send – these components are essential elements for planning, preparing and proclaiming in liturgy and ritual and ultimately connecting with our life experiences. The GPBS team is committed to providing resources that are user-friendly and adaptable. We are continually developing and redeveloping resources after dialogue with people who are working in the ‘mission field’ – listening, discerning and creating. We are conscious of the time (and energy) taken in preparing liturgy and prayer that is engaging, challenging and life-giving. Therefore, our website is user-friendly and liturgy-friendly. At GPBS we are committed to supporting and promoting, where possible, Australian Catholic artists who give so generously of their time and talent. GPBS has a listening ear to the signs of the times and the movement of the Spirit in the lives of God’s people

The Scripture of the Week

Jesus continued, "I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how God works - when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples". (John 15: 5 - 8)

The Prayer of the Week

Jesus is the vine, the true vine, and we are the branches. The teachings of Jesus feeds us. The example of the life of Jesus leads us. The compassion of Jesus transforms us. The justice-seeking of Jesus confronts us. The love of Jesus inspires us, for Jesus is the vine, and each chosen and loved one of you is a branch. Thanks be to our loving God. Amen.

The Words of Pope Francis

Abiding with Jesus begins with prayer, which allows us to experience his love. We are all branches of the same vine. We need to prune our prejudices towards others, and to the worldly attachments that stand in the way of full unity with the vine. Joining together to serve others can help us realise once more that we are brothers and sisters and leads us to grow in unity. Likewise, the Holy Spirit can inspire us to care for our common home, to make bold choices about how we live our lives. (Pope Francis, Homily, 25 January 2021)
