WE ARE AN ONLINE RESOURCE HUB FOR EDUCATORS IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

Welcome to GPBS

A multimedia website connecting faith, liturgy and life

GPBS (Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send) is a multimedia online website connecting faith, liturgy and life. It’s for School and Parish communities searching for contemporary resources that speak to the hearts, minds and stories of people, especially the young.

Why GPBS?

GPBS is based on four key components: Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send – these components are essential elements for planning, preparing and proclaiming in liturgy and ritual and ultimately connecting with our life experiences. The GPBS team is committed to providing resources that are user-friendly and adaptable. We are continually developing and redeveloping resources after dialogue with people who are working in the ‘mission field’ – listening, discerning and creating. We are conscious of the time (and energy) taken in preparing liturgy and prayer that is engaging, challenging and life-giving. Therefore, our website is user-friendly and liturgy-friendly. At GPBS we are committed to supporting and promoting, where possible, Australian Catholic artists who give so generously of their time and talent. GPBS has a listening ear to the signs of the times and the movement of the Spirit in the lives of God’s people

The Scripture of the Week

Tell me what you think of this story: A man had two sons. He went up to the first and sayd, "Son, go out for the day and work in the vineyard". The son answered, '" don't want to". Later on he thought better of it and went. The father gave the second command to the second son. He answered, "Sure, glad to go out". But he never went. Which of the two sons did what the father asked? They said, "The first". (Matthew 21: 28 - 31)

The Prayer of the Week

The power is yours: to shape and to teach; to mend and to raise; to love and to forgive. Come, Spirit of power. The truth is yours: to live out in life; to lead the humble; to proclaim to all. Come, Spirit of truth. The authority is yours: to challenge the unjust; to bring down the arrogant; to judge the world. Come, Spirit of authority. Amen.

The Words of Pope Francis

But I want you to make yourselves heard in your dioceses, I want the noise to go out. I want the Church to go out onto the streets, I want us to resist everything wordly, everything static, everything comfortable, everything to do with clericalism, everything that might make us closed in our ourselves. The parishes, the schools, the institutions, are made for going out. (Address, World Youth Day, 25 July, 2013)
