WE ARE AN ONLINE RESOURCE HUB FOR EDUCATORS IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

Welcome to GPBS

A multimedia website connecting faith, liturgy and life

GPBS (Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send) is a multimedia online website connecting faith, liturgy and life. It’s for School and Parish communities searching for contemporary resources that speak to the hearts, minds and stories of people, especially the young.

Why GPBS?

GPBS is based on four key components: Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send – these components are essential elements for planning, preparing and proclaiming in liturgy and ritual and ultimately connecting with our life experiences. The GPBS team is committed to providing resources that are user-friendly and adaptable. We are continually developing and redeveloping resources after dialogue with people who are working in the ‘mission field’ – listening, discerning and creating. We are conscious of the time (and energy) taken in preparing liturgy and prayer that is engaging, challenging and life-giving. Therefore, our website is user-friendly and liturgy-friendly. At GPBS we are committed to supporting and promoting, where possible, Australian Catholic artists who give so generously of their time and talent. GPBS has a listening ear to the signs of the times and the movement of the Spirit in the lives of God’s people

The Scripture of the Week

Every year Jesus' parents travelled to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up as they always did for the Feast. When it was over and they left for home, the child Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents didn't know it. Thinking he was somewhere in the company of pilgrims, they journeyed for a whole day and then began looking for him among relatives and neighbours. When they didn't find him, they went back to Jerusalem looking for him. (Luke 2: 41 - 45)

The Prayer of the Week

Generous God, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus serve as a model for all families: they were faithful to your call, obedient to your will, and selflessly giving to each other. We are blessed with our own families. Help us to follow the example of the Holy Family by showing our own families devotion and love. Amen.

The Words of Pope Francis

Jesus wants to be your friend, your brother, a teacher of truth and life who reveals to you the route to follow in order to reach happiness, the fulfilment of yourselves in accordance with God's plan for each one of you. And Jesus' friendship, which brings us the mercy and love of God, is "free," a pure gift. He asks nothing of you in exchange; he only asks you to welcome him. Jesus wants to love you for what you are, even in your frailty and weakness, so that moved by his loeve, you may be renewed. (Pope Francis, Address, St. Peter's Square, 21 June 2013)
