Growing through any stage of life has its fair share of complexities and pressures, but the teenage years are perhaps the most complicated of all. As the restrictions of childhood begin to fade away, the opportunities to choose your own path seem to increase in every area of life. We are forced to make moral and ethical decisions every day that could shape the course of the rest of our life. In our teenage years, we begin to decide who we are.
As Christians, it is also the point for many of us where we start to ask God who God wants us to become, and prayer becomes a vital tool.
May I know the difference, God, between one drink and ten,
between legal and illegal, between enjoyment and abuse.
May I know where the lines are, and, with your help,
stay on the right side of them. Amen.
